Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of the third episode show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as important members in the influential clan could assist the group access locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
